Konstantinos Petrakopoulos

Konstantinos joined the KU glaciology group as a Ph.D. student in 2012. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor's degree in Physics at the University of Patras, Greece. Throughout his Ph.D., Konstantinos has focused on addressing questions about outlet glacier stability and evolution using a 1-D numerical flowline model. Particular model experiments include:

  • Investigating the role of atmospheric and oceanic forcings on tidewater glacier dynamics
  • Incorporating feedback mechanisms into models of calving dynamics
  • Investigating the importance of bed topography on glacier stability
